Occupational Health Specialist

About the role

Novartis is hiring an Occupational Health Specialist in Taipei, working as part of the HSE team. The role provides occupational health services, manages and promotes employee health, performs basic medical care, assesses workplace OH risk factors and helps prevent disease and accidents. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for OH-related performance and issues for the site/country
• Launch OH services and management processes that comply with local authority requirements
• Ensure OH strategies are supported, championed and implemented
• Lead, develop and coordinate the associates' wellbeing programme according to HSE guidelines
• Represent OH in the site's HSE committee and advise on occupational health
• Take part in HSE networks or projects at global, regional and cluster level
• Set up plans or frameworks for site OH to meet local HSE standards and regulations
• Provide primary care for injuries and illnesses on site and handle emergency response
• Conduct health consultations with employees and follow up on medical check results
• Develop health promotion programmes such as fitness, smoking cessation and blood donation
• Support vaccination and infectious disease programmes (COVID-19, MERS, etc.) and maintain on-site OH facilities, medical devices and first-aid kits
• Support the HSE risk cycle, RCF self-assessment, audits, inspections and incident management from an OH perspective
• Extend OH technical support to the Greater China cluster when needed and manage Novartis or third-party HSE resources

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional experience in OH management
• Fluency in Mandarin is required; good command of English is preferred
• Desirable: BS/MS in nursing or medicine, licensed nurse, industrial hygiene degree or class B safety and health licence
