Senior Study Start Up Associate (Hybrid)

About the role

ICON, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation, is hiring a Senior Study Start Up Associate in Taipei. The role supports clinical trial execution and site readiness across APAC, covering site activation, regulatory and ethics approvals, budget and contract execution, clinical finance, records management, site training and inspection readiness. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Support clinical trial start-up, maintenance and close-out so sites are ready to enrol participants.
• Coordinate clinical trial authorisations, ethics submissions, budgets, contracts, investigator payments and other finance-related processes.
• Provide local support alongside the centralised Taiwan SSU Centre and align with local requirements.
• Maintain inspection readiness by ensuring compliance with GCP, local and regional requirements, sponsor procedures and TMF ownership expectations.
• For the Senior Associate level: manage high-priority or complex studies, oversee submission status, coach junior team members and act as subject matter expert on payment and process improvement topics.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of clinical trial or relevant experience preferred; at least 3 years preferred for the Senior Associate level.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific, medical or health-related field.
• Must have initial site contract experience.
• Ability to work with regional teams and provide local operational support.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of site activation, regulatory and ethics submission, contract and budget, finance and inspection readiness processes.
• Experience with site activation and initial site contracts.
