Senior Application Developer – XCT

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Application Developer to create and optimise X‑ray Computed Tomography (XCT) recipes and algorithms that solve high‑value customer challenges. You will work closely with business units and customers to design experiments, debug systems and drive innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Create XCT recipes (voltage, slant angle, projections) that balance throughput and image quality.
• Identify system‑level gaps (detector readout, geometry constraints) and report them to the business unit.
• Test new algorithms with customer data and define development paths; optionally develop additional algorithms and scripts.
• Serve as a technical expert, debugging EPICS controllers and Linux‑based issues.
• Collaborate with business units and customers to design experiments for tasks such as dose reduction and monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong experience in developing and tuning scientific imaging applications.
• Ability to work with customers on complex, mission‑critical problems.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Required skills

• EPICS control system knowledge.
• Linux development and debugging.
• Algorithm development for image processing.
• Understanding of X‑ray tomography parameters and design of experiments.
