Application Engineer, Software Engineering

About the role

The Application Engineer will lead complex application activities for semiconductor manufacturing customers, translating their requirements into scalable MES solutions and ensuring successful deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead solution design and architecture for MES/ATP projects, defining system landscape and addressing gaps.
• Engage with customers to gather requirements, provide consulting, and support pre‑sales activities.
• Coordinate across application engineering, infrastructure, and integration teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Identify technical risks, review designs, and ensure compliance with quality and audit standards.
• Produce high‑level and detailed design documentation, including functional and interface specifications.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in MES/CIM or manufacturing systems within semiconductor front‑end/back‑end environments.
• Strong knowledge of 300works or similar MES platforms and ATP domain.
• Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes (FE and BE).
• Willingness to travel worldwide, especially to China, for deployment projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in English and Chinese.

Required skills

• MES platforms: 300works, FactoryWorks, SiView, Camstar, PROMIS, FAB300.
• Operating systems and scripting: Linux, Unix, Windows, shell scripting.
• DevOps tools: Jenkins, Docker.
• System architecture, integration, and large‑scale deployment.
• Networking, database fundamentals, and message‑bus concepts.
