Principal Business Analyst - Retail

About the role

Coupang Taiwan is expanding its retail business and is looking for a Retail Business Analyst to drive data-driven decision-making across the retail organization. The role partners with Merchandising, Pricing, Supply Chain and Operations teams to analyze performance, find growth opportunities and optimize business outcomes. It calls for strong analytical capability, business acumen and the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze retail KPIs such as sales, margin, inventory turns and customer behavior, and build dashboards and reports to track daily, weekly and monthly performance
• Support pricing strategy through competitive benchmarking and elasticity analysis, and evaluate promotion effectiveness and ROI
• Analyze inventory health, demand forecasting accuracy and replenishment efficiency, and help mitigate stockouts and overstock
• Support strategic initiatives such as new category launches, vendor performance analysis and market expansion, and develop business cases for leadership
• Work with Merchants, Operations, Finance and Tech teams, translating business requirements into data solutions and communicating insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in business analytics, consulting, e-commerce or retail
• Experience with large datasets and building dashboards
• Preferred: e-commerce or fast-paced retail experience, pricing, merchandising or supply chain analytics exposure, strong English communication, and comfort in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Required skills

• Excel and SQL
• Dashboards in tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Data-driven decision-making, stakeholder management and business judgment
