Senior Software Design Engineer – Frontend UI Components

About the role

Supermicro is looking for a Senior Software Design Engineer to join its Hsinchu office. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend of server management products, with a strong emphasis on security, performance, optimization, and usability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable UI components using Web Components and Lit.
• Design clear component APIs and patterns that work consistently across Angular, React, and Vue applications.
• Deliver responsive, accessible components following modern CSS and accessibility best practices.
• Create and maintain Storybook documentation, usage examples, and component guidelines.
• Implement unit, integration, and UI behavior tests to ensure component stability.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and frontend engineers to translate design requirements into reliable components.
• Own versioning, release processes, and continuous improvement of the internal design system.

Required profile

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Design Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Web Components and Lit (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM).
• Strong command of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Proficiency in at least one major frontend framework: React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with modern build tools and bundlers (Vite, Webpack, Rollup, esbuild).
• Package management (npm, pnpm, yarn) and monorepo tooling (Nx, Turborepo preferred).
• Storybook documentation and component testing.
• Git‑based development workflows, GitLab CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
