Mobile App Manager – Android MDM & Backend Lead

About the role

TSMC is seeking a Mobile App Manager to lead the design and delivery of an in‑house Android Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution and its supporting backend infrastructure. The role combines deep Android expertise with backend, cloud‑native, and real‑time communication skills to support global semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Android MDM Development: Architect and deliver the in‑house Android MDM by Android Enterprise specification.
• Backend & Infrastructure: Build scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot or Python on Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and orchestrating containerized microservices.
• Real‑time Communication: Design robust bi‑directional messaging pipelines by MQTT or WebSockets to enable real‑time command execution.
• OEM Technical Integration: Serve as the primary technical liaison for integration, collaborating with OEM BSP teams to resolve hardware‑specific SDK limitations and firmware compatibility issues.
• Global Deployment: Adapt system architecture to meet business needs with well‑designed security protection and operational considerations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated 0‑to‑1 capability and “pioneer spirit” to build systems independently.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager, including recruiting and mentoring junior developers.
• Professional proficiency in English for documentation and global collaboration.

Required skills

• Android development with Kotlin/Java, including Device Policy Manager and Android Enterprise specifications.
• Server‑side development using Java Spring Boot or Python, building high‑concurrency RESTful APIs.
• Kubernetes orchestration, Docker containerization, and microservices management.
• Real‑time communication protocols such as MQTT and WebSockets.
