Software Director, Engineering

About the role

Qualcomm is seeking a senior leader to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the development, integration, and delivery of software across the full embedded stack. The role will define software architecture for IE‑IOT programs, ensuring alignment with product requirements, platform capabilities, and long‑term business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive technical execution across multiple software layers, including boot ROM, bootloader, Linux kernel modules, Zephyr RTOS, NPU drivers, and user‑space applications.
• Lead architecture definition and technical direction for IE‑IOT programs, partnering with systems engineers, hardware teams, product stakeholders, and tier‑1 partners.
• Evaluate system and software requirements for feasibility, quality, performance, and schedule alignment.
• Mentor senior engineers, coordinate cross‑project teams, and influence long‑term technical roadmaps.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development across the full stack and 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working in a SoC design house and familiarity with Qualcomm IE‑IOT software stack.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, Java.
• Embedded platform development including boot ROM, bootloader, Linux kernel modules, Zephyr RTOS, NPU drivers, and Linux user‑space APIs.
• Experience with Qualcomm Linux, API definition, and IE‑IOT solutions such as IP Camera, Industrial IoT, and robotics.
