Legal Counsel – APAC Region Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead our APAC legal function. Based in Neihu, Taipei, you will act as the primary legal advisor for the region, supporting business operations, compliance, and strategic initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review agreements related to sales, retail, distribution, e‑commerce, licensing and marketing in line with internal policies.
• Localize and implement the Group’s compliance programs and protocols across APAC.
• Coordinate and manage any potential litigation or regulatory actions in the region.
• Conduct legal research and provide advice on operational, commercial, employment and corporate matters.
• Build and optimise workflows for contracts, compliance and internal approvals, including the rollout of a contract management system for overseas offices.
• Collaborate with global affiliates on contract reviews, compliance and other legal requirements.
• Establish and lead a cross‑functional team to streamline legal operations and enhance regional collaboration.
• Deliver legal and compliance training to regional offices.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department of a multinational corporation.
• License to practice law.
• Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Experience in ANZ, ASEAN or Northeast Asia is a plus.
• Background in a consumer brand, especially FMCD, is a plus.
