About the role
The ideal candidate is an English speaker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, able to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and communicate clearly with global partners. Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese is a strong plus.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance to internal teams (Sales, Customer Success, Product, Operations) on product distribution, partnership structures, employment, and compliance matters.
- Draft, review, revise, and manage commercial contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements, reseller or data‑sharing arrangements, and employment documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate commercial and legal terms with clients and partners, protecting inline’s interests while fostering fair business relationships.
- Research and monitor legislative developments across APAC, especially data privacy, consumer protection, and digital services regulations.
- Represent inline in communications with regulatory authorities or dispute‑resolution bodies when required.
- Assist in building and refining internal legal templates, approval workflows, and compliance frameworks to support international growth.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field (required).
- 7‑8 years of experience providing legal and compliance support in a corporate or technology‑driven environment, preferably SaaS or digital services.
- Experience in cross‑border or APAC‑wide commercial work and contract negotiation with external parties.
- Proactive, ethical, commercially minded with a passion for building a transparent legal foundation.
Required skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, data protection, and intellectual property regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, regional standards).
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication abilities to translate legal complexity into actionable business guidance.
- Meticulous attention to detail and structured approach to documentation and review.
- English fluency (required); bilingual proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese considered a strong plus.
