Lead Engineer – Hardware Design

About the role

The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design is responsible for developing and delivering robust electrical and mechanical systems for Celestica’s customers. Working across cross‑functional teams, you will translate customer requirements into high‑quality hardware solutions and support the designs through manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement technical solutions in both electrical and mechanical domains.
• Lead small‑scale projects and coordinate reviews with other engineers.
• Interpret customer documentation, conduct research and perform experiments with minimal supervision.
• Create technical proposals, schematics, bills of material, diagrams and detailed drawings.
• Perform calculations, tolerance, thermal and structural analyses, and validate designs through testing and simulation.
• Provide ongoing support during the manufacturing process and liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
• Ensure designs comply with Celestica procedures, regulations and customer standards.

Required profile

• Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and delivering design documentation.
• Analytical mindset with capability to research, test, simulate and qualify hardware systems.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards, DFx principles and manufacturing processes.
