Customer Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment (Taichung/Linkou)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer at Applied Materials you will be the primary interface with semiconductor fab customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced equipment. You will work on‑site in Taiwan’s leading chip manufacturing hubs, applying digital analytics and diagnostic techniques to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment.
• Diagnose technical issues using analytical and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, vacuum, plasma and gas systems.
• Respond to equipment failures, support escalation processes and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure system performance, quality and uptime while following safety guidelines.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering fields.
• Strong interest in hands‑on technical work and problem‑solving.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities; English proficiency required, Mandarin a plus.
• Flexibility to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends and on‑call support.
• Willingness to relocate to Taiwan and work in a semiconductor fab environment.
