Application Engineer – Etch

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and semiconductor equipment, is seeking an Application Engineer focused on etch technology for its Linkou, Taiwan site. Key responsibilities

• Identify complex customer problems and drive solutions through the full work cycle.
• Lead recipe creation to optimize system performance and train PSE/AEs in recipe development.
• Qualify new technologies and features, execute beta‑sites, and conduct evaluations and demos at customer sites.
• Participate in customer demo activities and technical review meetings.
• Create and apply new methodologies to improve system performance for specific applications.
• Transfer new application capabilities from product division to the customer support team.

Required profile

• Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in the etch discipline and broadens capabilities.
• Understands key business drivers and uses this insight to accomplish work.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members and solves straightforward problems using technical experience.
• Impacts quality of own work and that of the team while working within guidelines and policies.
