Assistant Restaurant Manager – Café Restaurant

About the role

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager you will support the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional service, profitability and guest satisfaction at Café Un Deux Trois, a high‑volume all‑day dining venue within Mandarin Oriental, Taipei.

Key responsibilities

• Train, evaluate and schedule restaurant colleagues in line with company policies.
• Maintain profitability, efficiency and creativity through menu planning, pricing and promotional events.
• Implement systems for checking maintenance of tabletop supplies.
• Analyse service quality audit reports, guest comment cards and incident reports to identify improvement areas and develop action plans.
• Foster proactive inter‑departmental communication to promote teamwork.
• Conduct counseling and disciplinary procedures according to Mandarin Oriental procedures.
• Carry out annual performance appraisals using the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Performance and Development System.
• Ensure compliance with fire, life, health, safety and security standards and achieve 100% on health and safety audits.
• Deliver the Legendary Quality Experience (LQE) and uphold MO pillars from guest arrival to departure.
• Meet and greet VIPs and influential clients, ensuring follow‑up on discussed details.

Required profile

• High school qualification or equivalent; a degree or HND in Hospitality Management is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a luxury 5‑star hotel or high‑volume all‑day dining restaurant, preferably with exposure to Michelin‑starred or award‑winning establishments.
• Proven track record of delivering the highest levels of service.
• Preferable Chinese speaking ability.
