Team Leader - Public Area

About the role

The Public Area Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations and cleanliness of all public and back‑of‑house areas in a hotel environment. This role includes training, coaching and counseling Public Area Agents and coordinating with external service contractors to maintain hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Public Area Agents to ensure front‑of‑house and heart‑of‑house spaces meet the highest cleanliness and tidiness standards.
• Monitor and manage carpet and stone care programmes, ensuring proper maintenance.
• Inspect administrative offices for cleanliness, maintenance, supplies, safety and security, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee proper use, care and maintenance of cleaning equipment and ensure correct chemical handling procedures are followed.
• Coordinate with contracted service providers such as pest control to verify performance meets hotel standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising housekeeping or public‑area staff in a hotel setting.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation and chemical handling safety procedures.
• Ability to inspect and enforce cleanliness, safety and security standards across multiple areas.

Required skills

• Operation of hotel‑grade cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums).
• Knowledge of chemical handling and safety protocols for cleaning agents.
