Senior Procurement Specialist – Substrate & Passive Components

About the role

Renesas is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing and commercial management of MLCC, inductors, and embedded substrates. The role focuses on cost optimization, supply continuity, and end‑to‑end supplier strategy across the semiconductor portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, LTAs, capacity agreements, and payment terms for passive components.
• Define and own supplier strategy, driving selection, allocation, and long‑term supply assurance.
• Execute cost‑optimization initiatives using cost breakdown analysis, should‑cost modeling, and localization.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product groups to ensure component readiness for NPI, ramp‑up, and lifecycle phases.
• Manage supply risk, including capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, and cost volatility.
• Oversee contract governance (MSA, NDA, pricing frameworks) and supplier performance through KPI tracking.
• Escalate and resolve critical quality, delivery, capacity, or commercial issues.

Required profile

• 10+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in semiconductor or electronics.
• Fluent English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
• Hands‑on knowledge of passive components (MLCC, inductors, embedded substrates).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for executive presentations.
• Data analysis and cost‑modeling techniques.
