Backend Manufacturing Engineer - Sustaining (SSD HVM)

About the role

Solidigm, a global memory technology company, is looking for a Manufacturing Sustain Engineer (Backend Manufacturing Engineer - Sustaining) to sustain SSD High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) at the ODM. The role ensures that manufacturing processes and production output continuously meet quality standards and cost targets, working closely with design, test and validation engineers, QRE, NPI manufacturing engineers, global supply chain teams and ODM suppliers. The position is based in either Shanghai or Taiwan.

Key responsibilities

• Engage early with NPI process development teams to influence DFM and DFA, and spread a newly developed HVM recipe
• Work with NPI engineering on new SSD rework techniques and keep them in HVM
• Co-own manufacturing recipe characterization, define CTF process parameters, monitor NPI execution and qualify rework procedures
• Own new site or new production line start-up and certification, process and equipment qualification, engineering whitepaper review and approval
• Drive continuous improvement in yield, quality and process stability, and reduce costs through lean projects
• Own HVM standard and process change control, chair/process the process change control board (PCCB)
• Own manufacturing excursion management, chair the material review board (MRB), use technical risk assessment and failure analysis to find root causes and drive risk mitigation and corrective actions

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in science, or mechanical, material or electrical/electronic engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in boards/modules manufacturing engineering
• Strong knowledge of SMT, module assembly, rework, material sourcing, selection and qualification, and assembly-related failure analysis
• Proven use of 5-whys root cause analysis, PFMEA, DOE, SPC, troubleshooting and excursion control
• Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills
• Knowledge of program management; good English communication and presentation skills
• Fluent spoken and written Chinese is a must
