Professional Engineer – Ground Engineering

About the role

Arup is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Geotechnical engineering to join its Taiwan team. The role supports hydrology projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to business development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering and planning drawings, calculations, and technical documents for compliance with Taiwan regulations, codes, and professional standards.
• Prepare and verify permit submissions, authority approvals, and statutory documentation.
• Advise internal teams on regulatory, technical, and code compliance matters.
• Coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues before stamping and maintain proper documentation.
• Support business development activities, including technical input for proposals, client meetings, and market expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Taiwan under the Professional Engineers Act, in a relevant discipline (e.g., Urban Planning, General Building, Earthquake Engineering, Construction Management).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years post‑licensure.
• Strong Mandarin Chinese communication skills; working proficiency in English preferred.
