Transportation Specialist

About the role

The Transportation Specialist will lead day‑to‑day transportation operations for 3M in Taipei, overseeing third‑party vendors, freight forwarders, and carrier relationships. The role focuses on ensuring cost‑effective, compliant, and on‑time movement of goods while driving continuous improvement across the logistics network.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard all vendors to the new Control Tower 4PL partner and coordinate daily transportation activities.
• Manage relationships with 3M vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve delays or disruptions, and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Evaluate vendor performance using KPIs such as on‑time readiness, cost, and service quality.
• Maintain audit‑ready records, review shipping documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify inefficiencies, analyze shipping data, and recommend cost‑saving and route‑optimization initiatives.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for transportation expenses.
• Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and customer service teams to align transportation strategies with business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience managing carriers, freight forwarders, or logistics service providers.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
