Senior Engineer – Railway Communication Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to lead the design and technical studies of railway communication systems for SYSTRA’s Taiwan projects. The role involves managing system design, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, technical studies, and management of railway communication system projects.
• Develop and review engineering specifications, standards, and procedures for railway system design and construction.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations.
• Resolve technical challenges and optimise solutions to meet project objectives within budget and schedule constraints.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to foster professional development and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Diploma holder in a STEM field such as Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in communication roles within the railway or transit systems sector.
• Experience working on projects governed by Taiwan railway regulations and local practices.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Chinese (Traditional) and professional working proficiency in English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Taiwan’s railway regulatory framework, including laws, standards, and procedures.
• Understanding of railway and transit systems (urban metro, heavy rail, light rail) is highly desirable.
