Tax and Treasury Manager

About the role

The Tax and Treasury Manager will lead all tax matters for JTI Taiwan, covering direct tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax, while supporting tax implications of new business models and sourcing changes. The role reports to the Regional Tax Director – South Asia and works closely with global treasury and tax functions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement tax strategy in line with JTI policies and guidelines.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks across the organization.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise on tax implications for business initiatives.
• Maintain and apply tax rulings, oversee tax audits and manage tax litigation.
• Provide internal tax advisory on VAT, CIT, excise, transfer pricing and property tax.
• Coordinate tax‑related projects such as BAPA, health checks and tax refunds.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities and external consultants.
• Lead, develop and train the local tax team.
• Support cash forecasting and collaborate with Global Treasury to optimise cash position.

Required profile

• Degree in Tax, Law or Finance; local tax certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Big Four, local accounting firms, law firms or in‑house tax roles.
• Strong background in direct, indirect and transfer pricing tax matters.
• Fluent in Chinese and English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, excise and transfer pricing regulations.
• Experience handling tax audits and litigation.
• Ability to develop and implement tax policies and procedures.
• Understanding of cash forecasting and treasury coordination.
