Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure, XR

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join the XR DevX Infrastructure team. You will help build AI‑enhanced developer tools and platforms that accelerate the creation of XR experiences across Android devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions that improve developer workflow, code quality, and release velocity.
• Identify pain points in the software development lifecycle and propose innovative, AI‑driven solutions.
• Develop and integrate AI‑powered features, such as Large Language Model assistants, into developer tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining complex software systems.
• Experience with developer tools, automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, or CI/CD systems.
• Strong interest in applying AI/ML techniques to software engineering problems, including familiarity with Large Language Models and AI‑driven development assistants.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of testing infrastructure and developer tooling.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, Large Language Models, and platforms such as Gemini.
