Shock/Vibration Design Engineer – Mechanical Structure Specialist

About the role

Lenovo is seeking an experienced Shock/Vibration Design Engineer to join its Shock Vibration / Package design team. The role focuses on evaluating and improving the mechanical structure of server, storage and rack devices through advanced simulation and reliability testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical structure analysis using FEA tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, LS‑Dyna and Hyperworks.
• Produce analysis reports, risk assessments and mitigation plans to resolve structural defects.
• Develop cost‑effective, reliable structural solutions for server, storage and rack products.
• Lead validation testing, including material preparation, system setup and schedule tracking.
• Plan and execute reliability tests on shock tables, vibration tables, package drop machines and spectrum analyzers.
• Create and optimise related guides, specifications and SOPs.
• Collaborate closely with customers to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical development, structural analysis, reliability validation and FEA.
• Familiarity with server and rack hardware products.
• Strong communication and relationship‑management skills across a matrix organisation.
