RAMS Manager – Signaling System & Subsystem

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for a RAMS Manager for its Signaling system and subsystem business. The role ensures that validation and verification (V&V) activities follow RAMS governance directions and company processes, and supports the independent safety assessment and certification of signaling systems. The position is full time and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of the signaling system and subsystem in compliance with requirements, quality and project schedule.
• Define the validation test specification and implement V&V activities according to RAMS governance and company guidelines.
• Deliver project V&V documents in cooperation with RAMS, engineering, operation and maintenance and external suppliers.
• Take part in V&V planning, design reviews with suppliers and field tests, and ensure suppliers provide V&V evidence.
• Deliver the V&V report and maintain the required level of independence in V&V, in line with applicable standards and SILs.
• Support the management and interface of the Independent Safety Assessor, employer and external authorities.
• Define requirements and tools for testing environments, support the review of safety policy and targets, and support RAMS plans and hazard analyses.
• Support safety case documentation and the management of Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) and certification (NoBo) processes.
• Assist in identifying RAMS requirements, supporting requirements analysis and safety analysis using knowledge gained from testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards.
