Project Management Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy Taiwan is looking for a Project Management Engineer in Nangang District, Taipei. The role combines technical engineering work with project coordination, sales support and customer collaboration, in a full-time position with no remote option.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute technically to engineering development, evaluate and adapt standard techniques, and act as design authority for engineering deliverables
• Create project engineering proposals, including engineering estimates and risk analysis
• Support the Contract Manager with claims on scope, cost, time and risk
• Plan and control projects: define tasks, schedules, cost and quality metrics, and coordinate work plans and cost estimates
• Evaluate risks and opportunities and help implement mitigation actions
• Maintain customer relationships, attend project meetings and liaise with contractors, suppliers and officials
• Oversee subcontract creation and negotiate project claims and engineering changes
• Share knowledge with colleagues and optimise processes and tools while ensuring compliance with safety and contractual requirements
• Lead and coordinate interdisciplinary in-house and outsourced teams on medium-complexity projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field
• At least 10 years of experience in project coordination, project engineering or a similar role in power generation, transmission or distribution
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of power systems, grid technologies or high voltage equipment is a plus
