Principal Legal Counsel – Litigation & Investigations

About the role

Coupang is seeking a seasoned Litigation & Investigations Lawyer to lead its legal dispute management and internal investigation initiatives in Taiwan. The role combines civil and criminal litigation oversight with sensitive corporate investigations, supporting the company’s rapid growth and compliance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead civil and criminal litigation cases, with a focus on intellectual property rights, consumer protection, and labor disputes.
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed and represent the company in court and before prosecutors.
• Design, lead, and execute internal investigations covering fraud, corruption, workplace misconduct, and trade‑secret misappropriation.
• Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts to mitigate legal risk.
• Develop and refine investigation protocols and provide strategic advice to senior management on dispute prevention.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on litigation experience.
• At least 4 years of experience working at a law firm.
• Deep understanding of court and prosecutor procedures, with a proven track record of appearing in court.
• Strong cross‑functional communication and collaboration abilities.
