About the role
The Occupational Health Specialist provides on‑site health services, promotes employee wellbeing and ensures compliance with occupational health regulations. Working within the HSE team, the specialist designs and implements health programs, manages risk, and supports emergency medical response.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for occupational health matters at the site.
- Launch and maintain OH services to meet local authority requirements.
- Develop, coordinate and champion employee wellbeing programs in line with HSE guidelines.
- Represent OH on the site HSE committee and advise on health‑related issues.
- Participate in global, regional and cluster HSE networks and projects.
- Establish OH frameworks that satisfy local HSE standards and regulations.
- Provide primary medical care for injuries, illnesses and emergency response.
- Conduct health consultations, follow up on medical check results and promote health initiatives such as fitness, smoking cessation and blood donation.
- Support vaccination programs and manage infectious disease control (e.g., COVID‑19, MERS).
- Maintain on‑site OH facilities, medical devices and first‑aid kits.
- Ensure compliance with HSE rules, support risk assessments, audits and incident management from an OH perspective.
- Extend technical OH support to the Greater China cluster when required.
- Manage third‑party HSE service providers or contractors.
Required profile
- BS/MS degree in nursing, medicine, industrial hygiene or related field.
- Licensed nurse; Class B safety and health license preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin required; good command of English preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years professional experience in occupational health management.
