Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Tainan Display Manufacturing Center and Lab. You will apply physics, mathematics and materials science to solve complex mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle of advanced display and semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot difficult mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Define, coordinate, perform and document engineering test reports.
• Develop, design, or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and specifications for challenging scopes.
• Lead projects technically, develop key suppliers and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Design and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and processes to enable handling, assembly and disassembly of components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and Design for Excellence principles.
• TOEIC score of 785 or higher.
