Electrical Engineer – Display Lab (E3)

About the role

Applied Materials is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its Display Lab (TDL) in Tainan. You will design, modify and troubleshoot electrical and electronic assemblies that support cutting‑edge display and semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement electrical designs for current and future tool systems using a data‑based E‑CAD system (e.g., Zuken E3S) while meeting AMAT design standards and international certification requirements (SEMI S2, UL, NFPA).
• Apply state‑of‑the‑art E‑design solutions such as Beckhoff PLC, TwinCAT and TwinSafe.
• Specify, manage and coordinate E‑design projects from concept to implementation, working with external suppliers to achieve project goals.
• Participate in testing and validation of newly developed control systems and architectures.
• Collaborate closely with physicists, designers and system engineers worldwide and support internal customers in the USA, Europe and Asia, with occasional travel.

Required profile

• TOEIC score of 700 or higher.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
• Experience in design and development of power distribution and digital control electronics.
• Strong understanding of automation and electro‑mechanical process‑control mechanisms (motor/drive controls, pneumatics, etc.).
• Knowledge of IEC, SEMI and UL standards and ability to implement them.
