Materials Project Manager III (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager III to lead material requirements planning and supply chain activities for its legacy semiconductor equipment portfolio. The role is based in Tainan and focuses on optimizing global inventory, driving cost management, and ensuring seamless supplier transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to guarantee supply readiness and global inventory optimization.
• Lead supplier transitions and support business continuity across the product lifecycle.
• Drive cost management while maintaining quality, delivery, and operational performance.
• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Form and lead the Materials Core Team, managing matrix collaboration among buyers, planners, and production control.
• Negotiate supplier pricing and delivery terms, conduct risk assessments, and monitor supplier performance.
• Manage materials change control, cost objectives, and quality issue resolution.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, materials management, or operations within the semiconductor or display industries.
• Strong English communication skills for global supplier and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
