Legal Director – Global Corporate & Compliance Lead

About the role

The Legal Director will shape and execute the company’s legal strategy across its international operations, providing senior‑level counsel on commercial, regulatory and risk matters. This senior position reports directly to senior management and leads a global legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive legal strategy that supports long‑term growth and cross‑border business initiatives.
• Advise senior leadership on legal and regulatory issues affecting technology, manufacturing, supply chain and other strategic projects.
• Maintain and enhance the company’s compliance framework covering trade, IP, data privacy, competition law and product risk.
• Oversee major disputes, litigation and coordinate with external counsel as needed.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers and partners, balancing legal protection with business objectives.
• Partner with cross‑functional and regional teams to embed legal standards and risk‑management practices.
• Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing legal function that supports global operations.

Required profile

• Law degree with a valid legal qualification or internationally recognized credential.
• 15+ years of corporate or law‑firm experience, including senior leadership in a multinational environment.
• Proven track record handling complex commercial, regulatory and cross‑border legal matters.
• Experience in manufacturing, technology, supply‑chain or intellectual‑property contexts is highly preferred.
• Strong judgment, risk‑identification skills and ability to operate under pressure.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
