Legal Counsel – Taiwan Employment & M&A Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Taiwan‑qualified Legal Counsel to join our regional business group. Based in Taiwan, you will work directly with the senior Legal and Compliance leader, providing comprehensive legal support across employment, M&A, regulatory and data‑privacy matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on Taiwan employment and labour law, including policies, employee issues and documentation.
• Support acquisitions, disposals and other M&A transactions involving Taiwanese entities, handling due diligence, transaction documents and regulatory approvals.
• Establish new Taiwanese entities, prepare incorporation and governance documents, and resolve related legal or regulatory issues.
• Engage with Taiwanese regulatory authorities on licences, ownership changes and other business matters.
• Provide data‑privacy guidance for product development, customer information and operational processes.
• Draft, negotiate and review commercial, technology, supplier, service, confidentiality and partnership agreements.
• Support corporate governance, statutory filings, licences and company records.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and communicate their impact to the business.
• Manage external counsel for specialist or high‑risk matters.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law and called to the bar in Taiwan.
• At least 3 years post‑qualification experience, preferably with private‑practice and in‑house exposure.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, with ability to draft legal documents in both languages.
• Strong knowledge of Taiwan employment and labour law.
• Direct experience supporting M&A transactions involving Taiwanese entities.
• Proven track record establishing companies in Taiwan and handling regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of data‑privacy obligations affecting products and operations.
