HPC System Engineer

About the role

IMS Nanofabrication, a global semiconductor equipment manufacturer headquartered in Austria with subsidiaries in Taiwan, South Korea and the USA, is hiring a full-time HPC System Engineer in Tainan. The role supports the on-site and first-level team in keeping high-performance computing systems running, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze equipment malfunctions, investigate failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Install software upgrades on systems to deliver new features for customers.
• Support the on-site and first-level team in resolving issues quickly.
• Perform routine inspections to spot potential problems early.
• Work with R&D engineers and other stakeholders to solve complex system problems.
• Recommend and implement preventive maintenance plans, including regular maintenance, repair and component replacement.
• Keep accurate records of troubleshooting and produce detailed, traceable reports for management and departments.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical or software systems or machinery, preferably in a datacenter, industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Semiconductor experience is a plus.
• Ability to analyze complex software problems, find root causes and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Linux in HPC environments (a plus)
• High-speed interconnects (InfiniBand) knowledge (a plus)
• Practical Python experience, strong network technology understanding, Git experience (beneficial)
