Finance Accountant (1 Year Contractor)

About the role

This contract position supports the finance team by monitoring budget performance, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who enjoys working with data and helping colleagues maximise the use of finance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances to senior colleagues.
• Collect data from a variety of standard sources, input it into predefined formats, and generate accurate standard reports.
• Provide support and advice to users of data‑management systems, helping them extract and combine data effectively.
• Prepare moderately complex documents using standard office software.
• Gather and summarise data for internal and external reporting purposes.
• Resolve queries from internal or external customers and suppliers, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Assist in developing and delivering financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Continuously update knowledge of organisational policies, regulatory codes, and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with multiple data sources.
• Good understanding of finance policies, procedures and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.
• Ability to obtain supervisory approval for procedural exceptions when required.
