Director, Employee Relations

About the role

Coupang is expanding its presence in Taiwan and is looking for a Director of Employee Relations to lead its employee relations (ER) function. The role leads a multi-level, multi-functional ER organization with strategic influence across regions, and sets the technical and performance bar for ER practices and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multi-level, multi-functional ER organization with strategic influence across regions.
• Set the technical and performance bar for ER practices and compliance standards.
• Design and implement company-wide ER strategies, including risk governance and labor-management stability.
• Drive simplification and process improvement while managing complex, high-stakes ER issues.
• Establish contingency plans and lead proactive risk management to protect organizational integrity.
• Mentor senior leaders and develop successors for critical ER roles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in HR, law or a related field.
• 12+ years of HR experience with extensive ER leadership exposure.
• Expertise in global labor laws, risk management and ER governance.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and shape ER strategy across multiple geographies.
• Exceptional judgment, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
