Chief Financial Officer – Taiwan

About the role

HSBC Taiwan is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, regulatory reporting and capital management across the country. The CFO will provide insight and analysis to senior leadership, the Local Board and OPCO, ensuring robust financial governance in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall finance strategy, governance, reporting and performance management for HSBC Taiwan.
• Oversee financial reporting and local regulatory reporting, delivering high‑quality submissions to regulators and the Group.
• Chair the Asset‑Liability Committee (ALCO) and guide liquidity, funding and capital decisions in line with Group requirements.
• Establish and maintain a strong financial control framework that safeguards balance‑sheet integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Manage financial planning, performance tracking and management information reporting.
• Lead statutory audit, regulatory inspections and ongoing engagement with auditors, regulators and tax authorities.
• Integrate finance processes across on‑shore, GFOC and near‑shore teams to improve delivery and controls.
• Advise the business on financial and regulatory impacts of new products and initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive senior finance experience covering financial reporting, regulatory reporting and tax compliance.
• Proven ownership of financial controls and governance within a regulated banking environment.
• Demonstrated capability in asset, liability and capital management, including liquidity, funding and capital planning.
• Strong track record of partnering with senior stakeholders such as country leadership, the Local Board and governance forums.
• Experience overseeing statutory audits, external auditors and regulator/tax authority engagements.
• Knowledge of financing products in Global Banking & Markets and Securities businesses.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., accountancy qualifications) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
