Automation QA Engineer – Test Automation for Roku TV

About the role

Roku is looking for an Automation QA Engineer to own the end‑to‑end test automation for its TV platform. Based in Hsinchu, you will work on the New Product Introduction team, creating and maintaining automated Sanity, Smoke, DVT and PVT suites that run on real hardware in our lab.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases from requirements through execution.
• Run tests on physical Roku TV devices, debug failures, and triage issues from partners and internal teams.
• Leverage AI‑assisted coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to generate tests, analyze failures, and streamline repetitive workflows.
• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of test suites, providing clear quality signals for each TV release.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including vendors, channel partners, and internal engineering groups.

Required profile

• Hands‑on software engineer with a strong focus on test automation.
• Comfortable working with hardware in the loop and debugging low‑level issues.
• Curious about AI tools and able to integrate them into development workflows.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and hardware testing.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
• Version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
