Senior Medical Science Liaison – Neuroscience

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to lead scientific and medical engagement in the neuroscience therapeutic area. The role focuses on building credible relationships with thought leaders, external experts, and internal stakeholders to support AbbVie’s innovative medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific and medical leadership to establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and academic/clinical centers.
• Support research, educational, and scientific exchange initiatives while responding to medical information requests.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Brand) to align strategy and share insights.
• Translate complex scientific data into clear, audience‑appropriate messages for diverse stakeholders.
• Deliver compliant presentations and discussions in one‑on‑one and group settings.
• Identify and prioritize thought leaders for advisory boards, congresses, symposia, and research collaborations.
• Gather, synthesize, and communicate field intelligence, competitor insights, and emerging data.
• Attend scientific meetings, produce concise summaries, and support internal decision‑making.
• Provide scientific support for publications and medical communications.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in neuroscience or related specialty therapeutic areas.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain scientific relationships with external experts.
• Strong communication skills for translating scientific information to varied audiences.
