Accounting Specialist – Financial Accounting & Reporting

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely financial reporting for the organization. This role covers the full spectrum of transactional accounting, from payables to lease accounting, supporting month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, record supplier transactions, schedule payments and reconcile AP details with the general ledger.
• Manage accounts receivable, issue invoices and credit notes, reconcile AR with the general ledger and perform aging analysis.
• Handle inventory and cost accounting, record purchases, returns, depreciation and revaluation, and reconcile stock reports with the ledger.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, record acquisitions, disposals, reclassifications, calculate monthly depreciation and conduct annual physical counts.
• Perform IFRS 16 lease accounting, including contract review, system uploads and related journal entries.
• Reconcile shop sales between POS and ERP systems and assist with cash and credit‑card transaction reconciliation.
• Review bank statements, perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end closing activities and prepare expense analyses against budgets.
• Prepare and file withholding tax payments, VAT reports and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of financial accounting experience in a multinational environment; experience in a CPA firm is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with ERP, POS and accounting systems.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
• Proficiency with ERP and POS systems for transaction processing and reconciliation.
• Experience preparing VAT and withholding tax filings.
