Technology Specialist - eBeam Inspection

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is looking for an experienced Product Development Applications Engineer to develop and deliver eBeam voltage contrast inspection applications for advanced logic and memory technologies. The role is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced SEM-based voltage contrast applications for logic and memory technologies (DRAM, NAND).
• Analyze customer process flows, device circuits and failure analysis challenges to define technical requirements.
• Identify emerging customer needs and market trends to align the product roadmap.
• Design and run experiments on customer wafers to validate methodologies and optimize system performance.
• Transfer new application capabilities from R&D to customer-facing teams so they integrate smoothly into production.
• Provide technical leadership on yield analysis, defect detection and process control issues.
• Collaborate with internal product teams to guide tool enhancements and long-term technology direction.
• Lead technical review meetings with internal and external customers, represent KLA at industry forums and conferences, and generate intellectual property.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in electron beam inspection (EBI) or SEM-based applications for semiconductor manufacturing.
• In-depth expertise in voltage contrast imaging, device physics and process technology for advanced logic and memory nodes.
• Proven ability to turn high-value customer problems into actionable application strategies.
• Excellent customer-facing skills with a track record of leading technical engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, generate patents and contribute to technology roadmaps.
• Minimum qualification: doctorate with 6 years of related work experience, or master's degree with 10 years of related work experience.
