Senior Regional Development Applications Engineer (CAPRES) - Taiwan/Asia

About the role

KLA is hiring a senior Applications Development Engineer for its global CAPRES team, which supports customers across Asia including Taiwan, with a primary focus on logic and memory customers. The role drives strategic application engagement, customer coordination and regional application direction for advanced electrical and magnetic metrology solutions, working with technical engagement leadership, regional teams and CAPRES headquarters. It also offers the chance to grow into a regional leadership role, potentially leading a team of application engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic application engagement across Asia, including Taiwan, focusing on logic and memory customers and selected key regional accounts
• Define and coordinate application strategies, evaluation priorities and customer support plans aligned with business objectives
• Promote new customer penetration and increase adoption at existing customers by developing and promoting new applications and use cases
• Act as a senior technical interface for customers, giving high-level application guidance, escalation support and technical coordination
• Guide and support regional application engineers in on-site evaluations, application deployment, troubleshooting and use case implementation
• Capture customer requirements and technical challenges and turn them into recommendations for tool and software improvements
• Coordinate cross-functional activities between customers, regional teams and headquarters
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge sharing within the regional team
• Help prioritize opportunities and application development direction in regional engagement planning

Required profile

• Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 6 years; or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, including semiconductor manufacturing experience
• Direct customer exposure in Taiwan and/or major semiconductor accounts in Asia
• Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English
• Preferred: extensive experience in semiconductor CMOS manufacturing, exposure to leading Asian logic manufacturers, and a strong background in customer-facing technical leadership

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical and magnetic characterization metrology techniques such as sheet resistance, CIPT, MOKE and FMR
• Solid understanding of semiconductor applications, device characterization and process integration
• Expertise in metrology and data analysis methodologies
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and communicate effectively with senior customer stakeholders
