Technical Services Engineer

About the role

SOMFY, a French family-owned group and pioneer in home automation, is hiring a Technical Services Engineer in Taipei. The role provides technical expertise to sales representatives, retailers and key account customers throughout the sales process, supports bids and projects, and delivers post-sale technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to sales representatives, retailers and key account customers during the sales process.
• Give technical input to bid proposals, projects and technical documents, support specifications and identify additional sales opportunities with existing customers.
• Perform technical sales support at customer sites, or on a multiple-site basis.
• Work with sales teams to recommend products and services that meet customers' needs.
• Provide post-sale support including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, inspection of returned products and answering questions about operation and malfunctions.
• Advise customers on preventative maintenance and configuration adjustments, and deliver product and technical training.
• Handle new product application and testing, and prepare technical documentation for presales, sales and after-sales.
• Visit third-party technology providers, test their products jointly and explore business opportunities.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in engineering technical services and support, preferably in KNX/ETS solutions, after-sales handling and motorization/automation.
• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluent spoken and written English; local language is a must.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• KNX/ETS solution experience (smart home and automation is a plus).
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic products.
