Staff Test Engineer (ATE, DfT, Yield)

About the role

Renesas is looking for a highly experienced Staff Test Engineer to lead its test engineering initiatives. The role combines expert ATE test program development with test strategy, DfT implementation and technical mentorship of the team. It is a full-time position in Hukou Township.

Key responsibilities

• Define and architect cost-effective, high-efficiency test solutions for complex products on Cohu DMDx and Acco STS8300 platforms, and lead the migration of legacy platforms to new technology nodes.
• Lead design reviews of complex high-performance test interface hardware such as loadboards and probe cards, and solve signal integrity and thermal challenges for high-voltage/high-power (GaN) applications.
• Lead NPI projects from concept to release, driving DfT discussions with IC design teams before silicon to ensure test coverage and yield targets.
• Drive yield improvement through statistical data analysis and run aggressive Test Time Reduction (TTR) strategies to lower the Cost of Test.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and set best practices for software development and hardware design.
• Act as the technical focal point for cross-functional collaboration with international designers, process engineers and OSATs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related field (Master's strongly preferred).
• 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor test development, with a track record delivering complex mixed-signal/power management products to mass production.
• SME-level expertise in Advantest V93K, Acco STS8300, Cohu DMDx or Teradyne UltraFlex, including compiler/OS interaction optimization.
• Strong statistical data analysis and analytical skills.

Required skills

• C/C++ and VB mastery, with scalable test libraries, drivers and automation frameworks.
• Preferred: DfT (Scan, MBIST, analog), project management, Python/Perl scripting, Altium/Cadence PCB review, Verilog FPGA design.
