Staff Product Software Application Engineer – IP Camera / IoT

About the role

Qualcomm is looking for a Staff Product Software Application Engineer to join its elite product application team in Taipei. You will use Qualcomm's latest SDK to build high‑performance reference applications for IP cameras and IoT devices, shaping the customer experience and supporting advanced technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize reference applications using the SDK, integrating GStreamer, WebRTC, Matter SDK and AI models.
• Design applications and test suites to meet security and quality certifications such as STQC, FIPS and Common Criteria.
• Profile system performance and improve KPIs including boot time, power consumption and streaming quality.
• Create sample code, shell scripts and utilities to enable automated QA testing.
• Provide deep technical support for complex customer and field‑application‑engineer issues.
• Assist customers in IP‑camera application development, customization and long‑term maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in software development, preferably 10+ years.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Fluent in English; Chinese proficiency is a plus.
