Sr. Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

Supermicro is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the creation of high‑performance X86 server, peripheral daughter cards, and GPU platform hardware. The role involves end‑to‑end hardware development, from concept through production transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of X86 server boards, daughter cards, and GPU platforms.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and bill of materials.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and validation teams to ensure system integration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Review and approve design documents, schematics, and layouts.
• Debug and resolve hardware issues with validation and QA.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and test procedures.
• Modify and enhance existing motherboard designs to improve quality.
• Support customers and field application engineers.
• Transfer products to manufacturing, assist contract manufacturers, and resolve production issues.
• Travel short‑term for project support as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in X86 and GPU motherboard design, debugging, and testing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting ODM/OEM customers.
• Self‑motivated team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
