Sr. Antenna Design Engineer, Device Connectivity

About the role

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Senior Antenna Design Engineer to lead the development of connectivity solutions for consumer electronics. You will work on Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth BR/EDR, BLE, and 802.15.4 technologies such as ZigBee and Thread, collaborating with hardware, software, operations, and silicon partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define antenna concepts and requirements during product definition.
• Lead antenna design, optimization, implementation, and validation across multiple programs.
• Identify, debug, and resolve system‑level antenna‑RF issues.
• Achieve regulatory and performance goals for OTA performance.
• Support operations with antenna manufacturing test and sustain field issues.
• Characterize and debug desense and EMI problems to meet specifications.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Travel internationally as required.

Required profile

• 6+ years of antenna design experience for 3G/4G, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth products.
• Expertise with electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, and ADS.
• Ph.D. in antenna, electromagnetics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience designing small‑form‑factor devices and sub‑1 GHz antennas for consumer electronics.
