Site Engineer

About the role

Join Hitachi Energy as a Site Engineer, responsible for overseeing site surveys, installation and commissioning activities, and ensuring project execution meets quality, safety and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site surveys and define steps required to execute site works in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
• Assist with preliminary enquiries, bid reviews, labour modelling and other preparation activities.
• Collect and estimate labour hours and other site‑work related items.
• Participate in on‑site reviews and update approved cost adjustments in the business system.
• Review and analyse site‑works progress reports, recommending and implementing corrective measures.
• Issue documentation required for awarding and executing subcontract(s).
• Control installation and commissioning documentation for accuracy and consistency with contracts and procedures.
• Support the Site Manager in coordinating external resources and the customer.
• Inform external resources on planning activities, product knowledge and safety procedures.
• Ensure projects follow internal methodology and execution standards.
• Communicate timely and clear information to customers and stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with all external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in an engineering field.
• Minimum three years of experience in the electrical power engineering industry.
• Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Creative thinking, analytical skills and a structured work approach.
• Eagerness to learn and collaborate.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and willingness to travel.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
