Senior Staff Product Engineer, Optics

About the role

Marvell is hiring a Senior Staff Product Engineer for its Hsinchu office, where you will help develop and sustain its optical product lines with vendors and contract manufacturers in Asia. The role covers Silicon Photonic Light Engines, pluggable modules and co-packaged optics, and suits candidates with strong experience in high-volume manufacturing of opto-electrical devices, especially optical transceivers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the US team to receive and learn about NPI products, then collaborate with internal and contract manufacturer teams to move them to volume production.
• Sustain and continuously improve production yield, focusing on silicon photonics, optical transceiver modules, subassemblies and related opto-electronic devices.
• Proactively manage production line risks together with the PTE, SQE and planning groups.
• Own the products across the product lifecycle with the US module PE team.
• Implement automatic in-process controls and regularly monitor production line yield.
• Carry out production line failure analysis and failure disposition at chip/Sipho level and optical sub-assembly level.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Photonics, Opto-Electronics or a related field.
• 4+ years of industry experience in product and test engineering for volume production, focused on silicon photonics, optical transceiver modules and subassemblies.
• Prior NPI/manufacturing experience in silicon photonics, optical transceivers or other optoelectronic devices is a significant plus.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled information under U.S. export control laws; non-U.S. citizens may face an export license review before employment.

Required skills

• Strong experience in silicon photonics design, device physics and process development and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with silicon photonics foundry, assembly and packaging processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
