Job description
About the role
Join NXP's Power & Energy business line as a Senior Principal Analog Engineer, focusing on power delivery solutions for automotive and robotics applications. You will work within the Power Delivery group of the Advanced Power Systems product line, developing hybrid converters and cutting‑edge power management ICs.
Key responsibilities
- Lead definition, architecture, design, verification, and validation of complex analog and mixed‑signal ICs from concept to production release.
- Perform system‑level and block‑level trade‑off analysis, balancing performance, area, power, cost, manufacturability, and functional safety.
- Provide technical leadership for power management blocks, data converters, control loops, references, protection circuits, and mixed‑signal subsystems while mentoring junior engineers.
- Own risk assessment and mitigation throughout development, including architecture reviews, silicon bring‑up, debugging, and customer issue resolution.
- Collaborate with system architects, digital designers, AMS verification, layout, product engineering, validation, functional safety, reliability, and program management teams across global sites.
Required profile
- Minimum M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D. preferred).
- At least 10 years of direct experience designing analog and mixed‑signal transistor‑level circuitry for power‑management applications.
- Proven expertise in analog circuit design theory and control theory applied to original circuit solutions.
Required skills
- Design of analog MOS and BJT circuits such as bandgap references, amplifiers, oscillators, detection circuits, linear LDOs, and switching regulators.
- Experience with DC‑DC converters, switched‑capacitor converters, load switches, and hybrid converters.
- Proficiency with mixed‑signal design tools and flow, including reading and writing Verilog‑AMS models.
- Strong knowledge of control theory as applied to power‑management loops.
