Senior Backend Software Engineer – Ad Cloud Platform

About the role

Appier is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Ad Cloud Platform team. You will shape the backend architecture that powers high‑performance advertising and marketing solutions, working in a fast‑moving AI‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high‑concurrency backend services.
• Own the technical roadmap for large‑scale projects and services.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a high‑performance agile team.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and front‑end teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Ensure reliability through observability, monitoring, and alerting.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of hands‑on backend development experience, especially with high‑performance systems.
• Strong system design and architecture skills in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC or GraphQL.
• Experience with message queues such as Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL) and scaling strategies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Hands‑on use of observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini) and agentic coding paradigms.
• Proactive problem‑solver with strong communication skills.
